JULIE, NHL team Concierge

Julie was previously the Travel Director at Maritz Travel and is PJS’ Flight Concierge for one of our NHL teams.

What do you do as an NHL team concierge?

“It’s hard to say because every day is completely different. Mainly my job is to ensure that all the aspects of the team’s flights is carefully coordinated, even down to making sure the right drinks are served at the right seats for the right players.”

What do you like most about the job?

“I love the constant challenge and always getting to meet new people. When a flight exceeds expectations it’s always a rewarding feeling. Plus, it’s not too bad to be flying around the country on a private plane full of professional hockey players.”

SZYMON, NHL team Concierge

Szymon has been working as a PJS Representative for three years. He’s a qualified pilot with a multi-engine instrument rating, so he knows aviation from both inside the cockpit and the cabin.

What do you do at PJS?

“I’m the person that pieces together the jigsaw and coordinates all the flight details of my clients. I’m responsible for aircraft set-up, ground transportation, catering, and everything that can be customized about a flight. My role is about communicating with the client and the operator, and then communicating with my own team of people to ensure everything runs smoothly.”

What do you like most about the job?

“Of course it’s great to travel and explore new places, that’s definitely a big bonus that comes with working for PJS. Plus, as a qualified pilot, it’s great to be working with people who share the same passion for aviation. But mostly, I enjoy the one-to-one communication with clients and building client satisfaction in the long run.”

What’s been your favorite PJS experience?

“There’s been a few! I loved going to Europe for the summer with one of our clients and experiencing what the continent had to offer. Working on the GulfStates charter is also a great annual experience as it’s always a learning experience to partner with a fellow rep. If I had to pick one experience it would be the NHL seasons over the last few years. I’ve really been treated as part of the team and invited behind the scenes at the games.”

DIANNA, Concierge

How long have you been at PJS?

I was hired in July of 2016, so 3 months.

Where you are located?

Boston, MA and Columbus, OH

What do you do?

As a flight concierge I am responsible for creating a seamless transition from the ground to the air. My job is to solve any and all problems before they become problems. I am responsible for every detail before, during, and after the flight. This includes everything from monitoring the aircraft prior to the flight and booking catering to screening passengers and finding missing bags. I am directly involved with every aspect of the pre-flight and in-flight experience.

Past relevant employee history:

Throughout college I worked 3 jobs giving me the dedication and time management skills needed to succeed in the professional workplace. I double majored in business and law which now gives me a leg up when it comes to negotiating deals and solving issues quickly. When I graduated I worked as a business manager for a small start up which contributed to my ability to turn on a dime and create something out of nothing.

What you like best about your job?

My favorite part of the job is the actual flight. I look around and I love to see happy guests. In that moment feel so proud of myself for being able to pull it all together, this job gives me a real sense of accomplishment. I love my PJS team for always being there in a crisis and for taking care of the little details each and every day. Finally, I love the challenge of this job and how good it feels to know that I am representing such a great company.

Best experience at PJS on a flight:

During my short time with PJS my favorite flight experience has to be my NHL flights. The players have such great energy and the staff is inspiring. My Columbus flight attendant crew rocks and I love being a part of that team. We all have so much fun on the aircraft that it doesn’t even feel like work.

ADAM, Concierge

How long have you been at PJS?

I have been working with PJS for 5 months.  I started mid July of 2016.

Where you are located?

Boston, MA

What do you do?

Working as a flight coordinator for PJS I am responsible for all flight operations pertaining to my clients. This means that I am also in charge of making sure flights are on time, airports and crew are prepared, and our clients are consistently happy. I am currently the flight coordinator for the Boston Bruins. A very large part of my job is communicating with the Boston Bruins coordinator and staff to make sure that everything is as it should be. PJS promises seamless air travel so this is what I look to provide. I am also in charge of catering, and providing all of the necessities needed for player and staff before, during, and after a flight.

Past relevant employee history:

I went to college at Bridgewater State University and double majored in Flight Operations and Flight Management.  I hold a pilot’s license, so I try to fly whenever I can to stay current. Prior, I was the manager of my father’s construction business while he was ill.  This gave me excellent skills in customer service and prior preparation.

What you like best about your job?

Since I was young, I have enjoyed traveling the world.  I was fortunate enough to have parents that let me travel everywhere with them. This was how I knew that I wanted to study aviation.  Of course, the traveling aspect of our job is wonderful but I enjoy the process of learning to get a grasp on to how to organize everything for our clients so every flight can blend into the next seamlessly. I also really enjoy my co workers at PJS. Everyone is willing to help and teach new things to the new employees and I think that this is important.

Best experience at PJS on a flight:

I am very excited to be starting with the Boston Bruins this season. I have been a Bruins fan since getting into hockey in college so it’s great that I can provide a service to them.  Im sure we will have some great experiences throughout the season.

My job is to ensure that our clients receive superior charter experience from beginning to end of flight.

My favorite part of the job is the creative aspect. I love that I am able to work in a highly personalized arena, working closely with vendors to implement specialty menus and create a flight experience that is comfortable to all guests and, at the same time, memorable.  I love the fact that I also get to do that with an incredible Flight Crews who share the same work ethic.  I understand and respect the importance of working with Individuals who have worked their whole lives to be where they are.

Our unique client base, allows me the opportunity to face new and exciting challenges everyday.  The energy of the Team is contagious and we get to experience the highs and the lows with them.  As a part of the team that gets them to the next game, we feel as invested in each game as they do.  It’s fun, it’s exciting and it’s an honor to celebrate the season with them!
